Description

These Bacon Jam Brussels Sprouts bring irresistible flavors together in a simple dish. With caramelized sprouts cloaked in bacon jam, it’s perfect for quick dinners and special occasions alike.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds Brussels Sprouts, cleaned, trimmed, and halved
  • 2 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 pound thick-cut Bacon
  • 2 large Yellow Onions, finely chopped
  • 2 large Shallots, diced
  • 2 teaspoons minced Garlic
  • ½ cup packed Light Brown Sugar
  • ¼ cup Maple Syrup
  • â…“ cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 450°F and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Toss Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper, then spread in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  • Roast Brussels sprouts for 20-25 minutes until tender and golden brown.
  • While roasting, cook diced bacon in a skillet until crispy; drain and set aside.
  • Leave some bacon grease in the skillet, add onions and shallots, and cook until caramelized.
  • Add garlic, brown sugar, maple syrup, vinegar, chili powder, and the crispy bacon; simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Combine roasted Brussels sprouts with the bacon jam in the skillet; warm through before serving.

Notes

Don’t overcrowd the baking sheet to ensure even roasting.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
