Description

This creamy garlic pasta features rich flavors and a simple preparation method. With spaghetti coated in a luscious garlic butter sauce, it’s perfect for a quick and satisfying dinner that anyone can enjoy!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces spaghetti
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ cup butter (unsalted)
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 2 teaspoons italian seasoning
  • ½ cup white wine (such as sauvignon blanc)
  • 1½ cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese (grated)
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water and drain.
  • In a large skillet, melt the olive oil and butter over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion and cook for 3 to 5 minutes until softened.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  • Pour in the white wine and simmer for about 3 minutes.
  • Add the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a boil.
  • Incorporate the reserved ½ cup of pasta water, stirring and simmering for another 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Remove the skillet from heat.
  • Stir in the grated parmesan cheese until well combined.
  • Add the cooked spaghetti to the sauce and toss everything together.
  • Garnish with additional parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes.

Notes

For added flavor, use fresh garlic instead of minced garlic from a jar.
You can substitute heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter version.
Feel free to adjust the amount of red pepper flakes based on your spice preference.
