  • 1 pound ground beef browned and drained
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ cup diced onion
  • 12 slices bacon cooked and crumbled, divided
  • 1 14.5-ounce can diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 20 ounces refrigerated cheese tortellini
  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. In the slow cooker, combine the ground beef, diced onion, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, half of the crumbled bacon, and drained diced tomatoes.
  2. Add the beef broth, tomato sauce, and yellow mustard. Stir until everything is well mixed.
  3. Cover the cooker and set it on low, allowing to cook for approximately 3 hours to let the flavors meld.
  4. Stir in the cheese tortellini, ensuring they are mostly submerged in the sauce.
  5. Continue cooking for an additional 30 to 40 minutes until the tortellini becomes tender.
  6. Mix in the shredded cheddar cheese, stirring until it melts and creates a creamy texture.
  7. Top with the remaining crumbled bacon and let the dish sit for 5 minutes before serving to thicken.
