Description

This Crockpot Spaghetti Meat Sauce combines beef and Italian sausage for a rich, savory sauce that’s simple to make and perfect for any dinner gathering.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb 85/15 ground beef
  • 1 lb ground Italian sausage
  • 1 onion (diced)
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 2 jars pasta sauce (24 oz. each)
  • 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  • Brown the ground beef and Italian sausage in a skillet until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add diced onion and minced garlic; sauté for 2 minutes until softened.
  • Combine meat mixture with pasta sauce, crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, brown sugar, cayenne pepper, bay leaf, salt, and pepper in the slow cooker.
  • Cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours until flavors meld and sauce is bubbling.
  • Remove bay leaf and serve over cooked spaghetti, topped with Parmesan cheese.

Notes

Add more garlic for a stronger flavor.
Use your favorite pasta sauce brand for best results.
Consider adding vegetables like bell peppers or zucchini for extra nutrition.
