- 1 cup milk (240 grams)
- 4 teaspoons cherry blossom syrup
- 2 teaspoons matcha powder
- ½ cup hot water
- ¼ cup cream, optional (60 grams)
Instructions
- Sift the matcha powder into a small bowl using a fine mesh sieve.
- Add ¼ cup of hot water (170℉ or 80°C) to the matcha and whisk until foamy and aerated using a bamboo or electric whisk.
- Pour the remaining hot water on top of the matcha and mix gently until combined.
- In a separate jug or bowl, stir together the milk and cherry blossom syrup until mixed thoroughly.
- Fill two large glasses halfway with ice cubes and pour in the sakura milk mixture.
- Slowly pour the matcha tea over the sakura milk to keep the colors separated.
- If desired, top with cream and serve.
Notes
Adjust the amount of cherry blossom syrup to taste for sweetness.
For a creamier texture, add cream on top or mix it into the sakura milk.
Make sure to pour the matcha slowly to maintain the distinct layers.
