Description
These Grinch Oreos are a delightful treat with their sweet, chocolatey flavor. Featuring red velvet Oreos and smooth candy melts, they are easy to prepare and perfect for festive occasions or a fun dessert.
Ingredients
- light green candy melts – 10 ounces
- red velvet oreos – 12.2 ounces
- red heart sprinkles – 24 pieces
- dark green sanding sugar – 1 tablespoon (optional)
Instructions
- Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside. Reserve ½ cup of light green candy melt pieces for the final drizzle.
- Melt the remaining candy melts in a double boiler over low heat, stirring every 30 seconds until fully melted and smooth. Alternatively, use the microwave in 30-second intervals.
- Use a fork to dip one Red Velvet Oreo cookie into the melted chocolate, lift it out, and gently tap the fork against the edge of the bowl to remove the excess coating.
- Place the dipped cookie on the prepared tray and repeat with the remaining Oreos.
- Place the reserved ½ cup of candy melts into a microwave-safe piping bag, melt on low power while massaging the bag every 60 seconds.
- Snip a small piece of the tip off the piping bag and drizzle the chocolate over the dipped Oreos in a zig-zag pattern.
- Immediately top each cookie with a red heart sprinkle and optional green sanding sugar.
- Allow the chocolate to set completely at room temperature or in the fridge before serving.
Notes
Ensure the candy melts are fully melted for even coating.
Optional green sanding sugar adds a festive touch but can be skipped if desired.
