- 1 lb. ground turkey
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup plain bread crumbs, or italian breadcrumbs
- 2 shallots, minced (approx. ¼ cup)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons cold butter, grated
- 1 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil, minced
- ½ teaspoon ground pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 24-oz. marinara sauce, 2 jars
- 8 oz. angel hair pasta, or any kind of pasta
- Freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- more fresh basil and parsley
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, egg, breadcrumbs, shallots, garlic, oregano, parsley, basil, ground pepper, and salt.
- Using a wooden spoon or your hands, mix the ingredients thoroughly.
- Fold in the grated cold butter to ensure even distribution throughout the mixture.
- Form the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs, using your hands to shape them. Continue until all the turkey is used, yielding about 12 meatballs.
Notes
Make sure to evenly distribute the butter in the mixture for moist meatballs.
Feel free to substitute ground turkey with ground chicken or beef if preferred.
