Description

These Tasty Loaded Tater Tot Appetizers are the ultimate crowd-pleasers with crispy tots, melted cheese, and toppings like bacon and sour cream. They’re easy to prepare and ideal for any gathering or as a fun snack!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4860 frozen tater tots (16-oz bag)
  • ¾ cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 green onions, sliced (green part only)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 450ºF and spray muffin pan cups with cooking spray.
  • In a mini-sized muffin pan, place 2-3 tater tots in each cup. For a regular-sized muffin pan, add 4-5 tater tots per cup.
  • Position the muffin pan on the bottom rack and bake for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven.
  • Prepare a shot glass or small juice glass by spraying it with cooking spray. Insert the glass into each muffin cup, twisting until the edges of the potato are shaped like a cup. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes until they are deep golden brown.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of shredded cheese to each potato cup and bake for 4-5 minutes until the cheese is melted. Transfer them to a platter and let them cool for 5 minutes.
  • Top the tater tot cups with sour cream, crumbled bacon, and sliced green onions. Serve while warm.

Notes

For a spicier flavor, consider adding jalapeños or hot sauce as a topping.
Ensure the muffin pan is well-coated with cooking spray to easily remove the tater tot cups after baking.
