Description

These Valentine chocolate covered pretzels are a delightful treat that combines sweet and salty flavors. With simple ingredients like chocolate and crispy pretzels, they make for a fun and quick snack or dessert that’s perfect for kids to enjoy on special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces (226g) semi-sweet or white chocolate (two 4-ounce bars), finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil or coconut oil
  • 4 cups pretzels
  • optional: sprinkles for topping

Instructions

  • Prepare a large baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper and setting it aside.
  • Melt the chocolate and oil using a double boiler or microwave. If using the microwave, combine them in a heat-proof bowl and heat in 20-second increments, stirring after each, until melted and smooth.
  • Dip a pretzel into the melted chocolate, lift it out with a fork, and gently tap to remove excess chocolate. Use a toothpick to slide the pretzel onto the baking sheet. If desired, sprinkle toppings while the chocolate is still wet.
  • Refrigerate the pretzels for about 20–30 minutes to allow the chocolate to set. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

Notes

Use a squeeze bottle for easy drizzling of any leftover chocolate.
Feel free to mix and match different types of sprinkles for a festive look.
These pretzels can be a great gift when packaged nicely.
