Description

These Valentine Homemade Caramels are a sweet treat that melts in your mouth. Simple to prepare with creamy butter, brown sugar, and a hint of vanilla, these delightful candies are perfect for sharing with loved ones. Ingredients

  • 1 cup + 1 tbsp Butter
  • 1 1/4 cups Sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup Corn Syrup
  • 1 cup + 1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 1 tsp Vanilla

Instructions

  • Prepare a 9 x 13-inch pan by lining it with aluminum foil and greasing it with butter.
  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt together butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, corn syrup, and 1 cup of heavy cream, stirring frequently.
  • Add another cup of heavy cream and stir gently to mix.
  • Cook the mixture without stirring until it reaches 240°F on a candy thermometer.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.
  • Pour the caramel into the prepared pan and let it cool until firm.
  • Once cooled, lift the caramel from the pan, cut into pieces, and wrap in waxed paper.

Notes

Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for even melting.
Avoid overcooking the sugar mixture to prevent hard caramels.
Wrap caramels individually to keep them from sticking together.
