Description

Ingredients

  • Strawberry Cake Mix (15.25 ounces)
  • Cream Cheese (8 ounces)
  • Cream Cheese Chips (â…“ cup)
  • Ghirardelli Vanilla Melting Wafers (2 bags of 10 oz)
  • Wilton Pink and Bright Pink Candy Melts (½ cup each)
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Spread the strawberry cake mix on the baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes. Let cool completely.
  • In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  • Fold the cooled cake mix into the cream cheese until combined, then beat with a mixer until dough forms.
  • Add in the cream cheese chips and mix well.
  • Chill the dough covered in plastic wrap for 2 hours.
  • Scoop portions of dough onto a baking sheet and roll into balls.
  • Melt the vanilla melting wafers in a double boiler or microwave.
  • Dip each ball in the melted coating, remove excess, and place back on the sheet.
  • Sprinkle with optional toppings before the coating sets.
  • Allow truffles to set completely at room temperature.

Notes

For a richer flavor, you may use homemade strawberry cake instead of the cake mix.
Ensure cream cheese is softened for easy mixing; avoid lumps by using room temperature ingredients.
Chilling the dough is essential for perfect shaping and preventing cracks.
