These Baked Apple Cider Donuts are a perfect combination of apple spice flavors and moist texture. Easy to make and great for sharing, they bring joy to any occasion.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1½ cups apple cider
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Whisk them together.
- In another bowl, mix apple cider, sugar, buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well combined.
- Add the apple cider mixture to the flour mixture and whisk until just combined.
- Pour the batter into greased donut molds, filling each mold two-thirds full.
- Bake for 7-9 minutes, until the edges are golden and the tops spring back when pressed gently.
- Let the donuts cool for 2 minutes before removing them from the molds onto a sheet tray.
- In a bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon. Brush the tops of the donuts with melted butter and dip into the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Serve donuts warm or at room temperature.
Notes
These donuts are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for 1-2 days.
Adjust the amount of cinnamon in the sugar topping to personal taste.
If you don’t have buttermilk, you can substitute it with regular milk mixed with a bit of vinegar.
