Description

This recipe for BBQ Ribs features tender, flavorful oven-roasted baby back ribs coated in a delicious dry rub and topped with your favorite BBQ sauce. Perfect for any celebration!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 ½ teaspoons granulated garlic or garlic powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ to ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 racks pork baby back ribs, 2.5 to 3 pounds total weight
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce, or as needed

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F with the rack in the center. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with foil and mix the dry rub ingredients in a small bowl.
  2. Rinse the ribs under cool water and dry them thoroughly with paper towels. If there's a membrane, lift and remove it using a knife and paper towel.
  3. Position the ribs meaty side down on a large piece of heavy-duty foil. Apply a third of the seasoning on the bony side and rub it in. Flip and add the rest of the seasoning on the meaty side, rubbing it in. Wrap the ribs in the foil and place them on the prepared baking sheet. If using two racks, season and wrap them separately.
  4. Bake the ribs in the preheated oven for 2 hours until tender when pierced.
  5. After baking, switch the oven to broil. Unwrap the foil and transfer the ribs to the foil-lined baking sheet, meaty side down. Apply BBQ sauce generously on both sides and broil for 4-6 minutes until caramelized.
  6. Let the ribs rest for 5 minutes, then slice into individual servings using a serrated knife.

Notes

For more intense flavor, let the seasoned ribs sit for a while before cooking.
Use your favorite BBQ sauce to customize the taste.
These ribs are best served with coleslaw or cornbread.
