- 1 1/2 ounces añejo tequila
- 1 1/2 ounces homemade sweet and sour mix
- 3/4 ounce orange liqueur (cointreau or triple sec)

- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice (about 5 – 7 small limes)
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 medium lemons)
Instructions
- Simmer water and sugar in a saucepan until dissolved, then allow to cool to create sugar syrup.
- Stir in fresh lime and lemon juice to the cooled syrup, making the sweet and sour mix.
- Prepare the glass rim with lime juice and kosher salt, then fill the glass with ice.
- Shake tequila, sweet and sour mix, and orange liqueur in a shaker with ice until well chilled.
- Strain the mixture into the prepared glass over ice, and garnish with a lime wedge.
Notes
Adjust the sweetness of the margarita by varying the amount of sugar in the syrup.
