Description

Enjoy the irresistible flavor of Caramel Apple Cinnamon Rolls, featuring gooey caramel, tart apples, and a fluffy dough. Perfect for breakfast or dessert!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups water, luke warm
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 6 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 large apples, gala, honeycrisp, granny smith, or another tart and sweet variety
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted, or very soft
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup karo syrup
  • 1/2 15-ounce can sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

  1. In a stand mixer bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast; stir and let sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
  2. Add melted butter, eggs, salt, and 2 cups of flour; mix on low with a bread hook for 2 minutes until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the remaining 3½ cups of flour; mix on low and add more flour if needed until the dough pulls away from the bowl. Knead on low for an additional 3 minutes.
  4. Cover the bowl with a towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes until it doubles in size.
  5. Turn the risen dough onto a floured surface, forming it into a small rectangle. Roll it out into a 24" x 12" rectangle, about 1/2" thick.

Notes

For a light and airy roll, ensure the water is warm but not hot when activating the yeast.
Feel free to add nuts or additional spices to the filling for extra flavor!
These rolls can be prepared ahead and baked fresh when needed.
