  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 5 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 34 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 8 Oreo chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed into fine crumbs

Instructions

  1. In a stand mixer or mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, cream cheese, and vanilla together on medium-high speed for 2 to 2½ minutes until smooth and fluffy.
  2. Reduce the mixer speed to medium-low and gradually add powdered sugar, 1½ cups at a time, alternating with 1 tablespoon of heavy cream after each addition.
  3. Continue mixing until the frosting is smooth and creamy, adding extra powdered sugar if the frosting is too soft.
  4. Gently fold in the finely crushed Oreos, ensuring there are no large clumps for piping.
  5. If not using immediately, refrigerate the frosting. Before using, allow it to come to room temperature for 20–30 minutes and re-whip for 15–30 seconds to restore fluffiness.

Notes

Ensure the butter and cream cheese are at room temperature for the best texture.
Finely crush the Oreos to avoid clumping when piping the frosting.
If the frosting is too soft, additional powdered sugar can be added.
