Description
These Grilled Tofu Skewers (Vegan) offer an irresistible flavor experience with marinated tofu and a tasty peanut dipping sauce. Perfect for quick dinners or healthy meals!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (8 ounce) block extra firm tofu, pat dry and cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar or white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, optional for garnish
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce or sweet soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon lime juice, freshly squeezed
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cubed tofu, soy sauce, sesame oil, and vinegar. Stir to evenly coat the tofu in the marinade.
- Thread marinated tofu onto bamboo skewers, leaving space between each cube. Aim for 4-5 cubes per skewer.
- Lightly grease the grill pan or large skillet. Preheat it over medium-high heat for 1-2 minutes until oil shimmers. Place skewers in the pan, ensuring they're spaced out. Grill for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy, brushing occasionally with leftover marinade.
- Prepare the peanut dipping sauce by whisking hoisin sauce, peanut butter, water, sesame oil, and lime juice until smooth. Set aside.
- Garnish grilled tofu skewers with sesame seeds and serve hot with peanut dipping sauce.
Notes
For added flavor, let the tofu marinate for an hour before grilling.
Ensure the skewers are soaked in water for 30 minutes if using wooden ones to prevent burning on the grill.
