- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- kosher salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the grated garlic and cook for about 2 minutes, stirring frequently, until fragrant.
- Stir in the dried oregano and crushed red pepper flakes, cooking for 1 minute.
- Add the crushed tomatoes and sugar, then reduce the heat to low.
- Simmer the mixture for about 20 minutes, allowing it to thicken.
- Stir in the unsalted butter and season with kosher salt and freshly ground pepper to taste.
- Let the sauce cool to room temperature before using.
