This Honey Dijon Garlic Chicken is a mouthwatering dish that’s quick to prepare and full of flavor. Juicy chicken breasts are coated in a delightful honey mustard glaze, making it an ideal option for a hassle-free weeknight dinner or a hearty meal enjoyed with loved ones.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large boneless skinless chicken breasts, about 6 ounces each
- pinch salt and pepper
- 3 tbsp butter
- 6 cloves minced garlic
- 1/3 cup honey
- 2 tbsp whole grain dijon mustard
- pinch salt and pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) while preparing the glaze. Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with aluminum foil, ensuring there's about a half inch of space around each chicken breast.
- In a small sauté pan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and gently sauté for 30 to 60 seconds, ensuring it softens without browning.
- Stir in honey, whole grain Dijon mustard, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Let the glaze simmer for one to two minutes until it slightly reduces and thickens.
- Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Carefully remove the hot baking pan from the oven and place the chicken breasts evenly inside.
- Pour the hot honey Dijon glaze over the chicken breasts in the pan. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes.
- Baste the chicken with the collected glaze from the pan, then return it to the oven. Bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 170°F (77°C).
- Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For maximum flavor, ensure the garlic is softened, but not browned when making the glaze.
Adjust the amount of honey and mustard to suit your taste preference.
