Description

Make your pies even more delectable with this pie crust shield. Simple prep with aluminum foil helps keep your crust perfectly toasted without burning.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 strips aluminum foil (about 12 inches each)

Instructions

  1. Cut two to three long strips of foil (about 12 inches each) and fold them in half lengthwise.
  2. Press one strip of foil against the side of the pie plate to cover part of the crust edge.
  3. Repeat with another strip of foil.
  4. If necessary, continue with a third strip, ensuring the entire edge is covered while the center remains uncovered.

Notes

Ensure the foil is folded neatly to fit well against the pie crust.
This method is particularly useful for deep-dish pies or when using store-bought crusts.
The center of the pie should remain uncovered to allow even baking.
