Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ cup (½ stick / 57 g) unsalted butter
  • ½ cup (160 g) maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ¼ cup water
  • Green onions, chopped, for garnish
  • Cooked white rice, for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, combine salmon cubes with olive oil and seasonings to coat.
  • Melt butter in a saucepan, then mix in maple syrup, soy sauce, garlic, vinegar, red pepper flakes, and water until bubbling.
  • Toss salmon in the glaze and arrange on the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden and flaky.
  • Garnish with green onions and serve over rice.

Notes

Use fresh salmon for the best results, or substitute with trout or chicken.
For a gluten-free option, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
