Description

The Valentine 2 Ingredient Bagel is a delightful, easy-to-make treat using just self-rising flour and Greek yogurt. This recipe combines irresistible flavor with simple preparation, making it ideal for a quick breakfast or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 cup plain non-fat greek yogurt
  • 1 egg plus 1 teaspoon of water; optional for toppings

Instructions

  • Combine the flour and Greek yogurt in a bowl using a wooden spoon.
  • Once the dough forms, turn it out onto a floured surface and knead until it forms a ball.
  • Flour your hands and the surface well, as the dough is sticky. You can work extra flour into the dough if needed.
  • Cut the dough into four even pieces.
  • Shape each piece into a log about 4 to 6 inches long, then pinch the ends together to form a bagel shape.
  • Place each bagel on a lined baking sheet with parchment paper or a silpat.
  • Make an egg wash by beating the egg with the teaspoon of water and brush it on top of each bagel, adding preferred seasonings.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 22 minutes.
  • Remove the tray and increase the oven temperature to 450°F.
  • Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 3 to 4 minutes until the bagels are browned.
  • Store the bagels in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze them for up to 3 months.

Notes

You can add your favorite toppings like sesame or poppy seeds before baking.
Ensure your hands and work surface are well-floured to handle the sticky dough easily.
For best results, use self-rising flour to achieve the right texture.
